Victor recieved his branch on Thursday.
They called him into the office and said he must have scored off the charts to have gotten Military Intelligence without detail and without an ADSO.
They told us that almost all Officers this year wanting the Military Intelligence Branch would be required to detail. Detail means going into one of the three branches: Infantry, Field Artilery or Chemical for three years before being allowed to go onto the Military Intelligence Branch.
Victor had decided it wasn't worth it to risk getting Infantry for three years and had sent his papers in for Signal Corps. But, at the last minute he changed his papers and put military intelligence as his first option with Infantry detail. He also gave an ADSO, which would add 3 more years to his contract to help him get military intelligence.
We were nervous that they were going to give him one of the details or something else that he really didn't want to do. I had a dream that they had given him chemical!
Well..........the letter came and he got Military Intelligence without detail and without having to give the three extra years!!!!!!!!!! His score was so high that he was able to get what he wanted. We are sooo excited.
He will be leaving January 11, 2008 for Fort Sill, Oklahoma for 6 weeks for his officer training. He'll be back at the end of February and then will leave the second week in March for Fort Huachuca, AZ (which is only 5 hours away) until the end of June for his Military Intelligence/Officer training.
The girls and I will stay here in Prescott as the girls will finish school in the middle of June.
We should know by the end of November where his first station will be after June. Puerto Rico? Who knows!! What an adventure!

Congratulations Victor!
Ann, that is soooo awesome!!! Can you believe the end is in sight?!!!
Love you.
We are in the same boat...waiting for orders! Puerto Rico would be an adventure, for sure. We're waiting to hear whether we are going to San Francisco or NYC. Currently, we're enjoying the blustery autumn days of the Northeast.
So, my online life is a bit up in the air at the moment. But I wanted to drop a note, since Katherine shared your blog with me. And your children are darling. Thanks for blogging.
