Victor is in California at the National Training Center with his brigade preparing to deploy to Iraq. He'll be home in two weeks and then will leave a few days before Thanksgiving. He's scheduled to be gone a year.
The reality of it still hasn't hit me and probably won't until he actually boards the plane. Naomi gets pretty upset about it at times but it passes. She asks me what we'll do if daddy dies and I tell her we would be okay. I told her that Heavenly Father is going to take daddy when it's time whether he is in Iraq or at home with us. I told her that we shouldn't be sad about things that haven't happened and might never happen. I told her we should wait until something bad happens and then let's be sad...and she said "ya, mom you're right"
I know the time will go by fast and it's an opportunity for us to grow.
